Author's instructions

PRESENTER INSTRUCTIONS

Presentations for Oral Presentation in the main IEEE WoWMoM conference (workshop presenters should check the website of the respective workshop):

  • Presentations must be pre-recorded. As we will be using Zoom to run the virtual conference, we strongly suggest to use Zoom to pre-record your presentation. Instructions as to how to record your presentation talk with Zoom can be found here.
  • Presentation videos must NOT be longer than 18 minutes to allow for 4 - 5 minutes of live question and anwers during the session.
  • Presentation videos will be played live during the session by one of the virtual conference assistants.

Presentations for Poster and Demo Session:

Posters will be shown via shared screen during Zoom break out room sessions for each poster during the poster session. Demo presenters are requested to prepare an 8-min video to be uploaded prior to the conference according to the upload instructions below and a poster to facilitate discussions during the break-out session. Presenters should make sure they have reliable Internet connectivity in order to share screens and a demo video (if desired).

Upload instructions:

Pre-recorded presentations must be uploaded to the IEEE Computer Society FTP server NOT later than 28th August 2020, 1:00 PM (GMT+1)

Presentations can be included in the proceedings published by the IEEE if the authors indicate this by filling in a copyright form (available soon) and uploading it with the video.

Upload details:

Filename convention: wowmom2020_sessiontype_session<sessionno>_paper<paperno>_nameofpresenter (e.g., wowmom2020_regular_session7_paper3_shantichilukuri).

PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF PAPERS FOR REVIEW

WoWMoM 2020 is using the EDAS Conference Management Software. Submit manuscripts conforming to the guidelines given below.

Papers must be unpublished and must not be submitted or under review for publication elsewhere. Technical Program Committee members and other experts active in the field will review submitted papers to ensure high quality and relevance to the conference program. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings to be published by IEEE press.

Note: For accepted papers, attendance and presentation by one of the authors is mandatory.

Full Papers

Submissions may be up to 10 pages in length (including figures and references), formatted in two-column IEEE conference style with font size 10 point or greater.

For guidelines regarding formatting, please refer to the IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings.

Work in Progress (Short) Papers

Submissions may be up to 4 pages in length (including figures and references), formatted in two-column IEEE conference style with font size 10 point or greater.

Camera-ready Submission Instructions

Camera-ready Submission Instructions for regular and work-in-progress papers

The maximum length of regular papers is 10 pages and that of work-in-progress papers is 4 pages. To ensure the accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings, the camera-ready versions must be submitted by June 26, 2020, as indicated below:

  1. The recommended format must be used (see Formatting Instructions above).
  2. IEEE PDF compliance must be checked through the IEEE PDF Xpress web site, and a proof of this must be provided (see Requirements for creating PDF Documents below).
  3. The camera-ready version of the paper must be submitted (See Submission Instructions below).
  4. The IEEE Copyright Form must be submitted electronically via EDAS (see IEEE Copyright Form below).
  5. At least one author must register to WoWMoM 2020 with a full registration status.


EDAS will NOT be used to collect camera-ready (accepted) papers.


Please note that unless these conditions are met, we will not be able to include your paper in the conference proceedings or in IEEE Xplore.

The WoWMoM organizers reserve the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

Requirements for creating PDF Documents for IEEE Xplore

Individual PDFs of accepted papers must be prepared according to the IEEE PDF specification for IEEE Xplore (http://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/pdfexpress.html).

Before creating a pdf, please be sure to add the copyright notice to the bottom of the first page of your source document. Instructions about the copyright notice to add can be found below, under the Copyright Information section.

All submitted pdf files must pass the IEEE PDF eXpress check.


Creating your PDF eXpress Account

First-time users should do the following:

  • Go to the IEEE PDF eXpress login page.
  • Select the "New Users – Click here" link and enter the following:

    • conference ID: 49955X
    • your email address
    • a password
  • Continue to enter information as prompted
  • An Online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous coferences. Verify that your contact is valid.

Please note that IEEE PDF eXpress is the final collection site for camera-ready (accepted) papers for this conference. EDAS will NOT be used to collect camera-ready papers. 

Submission Instructions for Camera-Ready Versions

All authors must submit the camera-ready version of their paper through IEEE PDF eXpress (see above). You will need to go to your author account and make sure to click on "Approve for Collection".

Important: The deadline for submission is June 26, 2020 (11:59pm EDT) – hard deadline.

IEEE Copyright Form

An IEEE Copyright Form must be submitted for each paper. Authors are allowed to file IEEE copyright forms electronically.

To upload copyright forms, first log into EDAS, then go to “My Papers” tab and click on the ‘(c)’ icon under the column “Copyright Form” where your paper is located.

You will be redirected to the IEEE Electronic Copyright Form website. Please provide carefully the answers that best apply to you. Once the copyright form has been successfully recorded, you will receive a confirmation email.

Note: If one of the author is authorized to sign the copyright on behalf of all the authors, the copyright form shall be submitted by that author. Otherwise, answer “Yes” when asked “Should another Author or Corporate Officer complete the electronic Copyright Form?” and ensure the other authors complete this process.

Camera-ready Submission Instructions for Workshop Papers

Same as those for regular and work-in-progress papers, except for the maximum length of the camera-ready version, which is 6 pages.

Camera-ready Submission Instructions for Demos, Posters and Ph.D. Forum submissions

Same as those for regular and work-in-progress papers. The title of the paper should be preceded by "Demo:", "Poster:" or "Ph.D. Forum:" as appropriate. The maximum length of poster and demo papers should be 3 pages and that of Ph.D. Forum should be 2 pages.
