Dr Rosane Minghim

I am a lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Information Technology , UCC - Ireland. I was an Associate Professor at ICMC - University of São Paulo, Brazil, where I worked for 30+ years. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, an MsC degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Computer Studies from the University of East Anglia - UK, having had stays as a visiting scholar at University of Massachusetts Lowell USA (2001-2002) and at Dalhousie University - Halifax (Canada) (2015), where I act as an adjunct professor.

My research regards Visual Analytics, Visualization and human-centric Machine Learning and AI, as well as Applications, imprinting a multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinariy outlook to my work. I interact with researchers and professionals in diverse data analytics applications, such as biology, image collections, document collections, soundscape ecology, medical records, social networks, etc.. My research partners are located in various countries, such as Brazil, the USA, Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Peru, and the UK. I frequently publish in main venues related to visual analytics, graphics, bioinformatics, user interaction and applications.
